Thanks everyone for the well wishes! Luv, I do ship! Just let me know whenever you're ready. M, I'll text you.

Just for fun, some pictures of the cemanis. These were taken inside, so you can't really the way their feathers turn green and purple when the light hits them. Also, they are so black the camera tends to get confused and refuses to focus on them. Sometimes, since the camera is looking for gray because it doesn't think something can be this black, it'll wash the background out and give everything a gray tone. Taking good pictures of them can be a challenge! You can see in the first picture where the camera got confused because of all the black and didn't focus well.

To show you what I mean with the pictures, here's a picture of the NN cockerel in that same coop under same conditions. The camera likes him better.

Beautiful!

Hi folks, I have some bad news. We are moving to an area where we are prohibited from having chickens. I have been considering rehoming my 3 babies. I don't think we have a choice. From top left to right is Fredo, Chicken Nugget, and Beak A Poo. Fredo is trained to go into the nesting box, upper level, when he hears, "back back back" or sees the fishing net. They will come down to eat when they hear, "come get come get". Nugget laid an egg yesterday. They would need to be together because they yell loudly if any of them are separated. All 3 hatched together. Beak A Poo is a silkie, Chicken Nugget is a frizzle from a Silkie/frizzle Cochin cross, and Fredo is a smooth from a silkie/frizzle cochin cross. I'm heartbroken, and this has been a very difficult thing to come to terms with. Most importantly I want all 3 to be happy and stay together. Fredo absolutely loves fettuccine noodles, and all love watermelon. They get 1 slice of fresh bread every morning, bits of veggies from salad, and have been eating Dumor layer pellets.

Why?

We don't own the house we are in. We were going to build at the farm, but new construction is very expensive and it takes a long time. We decided to look for someplace a little more stable and DH found a lovely home in New Hartford. It is very nice, I've been crying continually for about 2 weeks.

DH says everything will be ok, that we'll adjust, and we need to find a good loving home for our tiny flock. I could give up a dog in a heartbeat, but I am so attached to these birds. I love them so much. The computer screen is blurry I'm crying so much. At this point I have to do what is best for our little babies. I have been with them so much since they hatched. Did physical therapy on little Fredo when his legs didn't work, put them in warm towels and watched TV with them, Fredo loves Dragnet, and it's been the most amazing journey. Sorry to ramble, it's kind of a shock. DH has a friend with some chickens but they are full size and these are little bantam babies. According to the town, anyone caught with chickens gets a fine AND jail time. Any ideas? thoughts?
