I grew up in Pains Hollow and Jordanville now I'am in Canajoharie. Hekimer got hammered Saturday by the rain stopped at Walmart for an oil change on are way to Sodus Bay ( you pick strawberries are only $2.00 there) Strawberry pepper jam is my new fav. just add a pinch fresh cracked pepper to jam jars cut it in when doing the air thing.New to chickens in Herkimer County, NY. I have 7 11-week old chicks and 4 2-week old chicks, all barnyard mixes. I have to separate the cockerels soon from the older batch. I'm moving 3 of the 4 cockerels to a separate pen. The rain is preventing the construction of the other coop. This has been a wonderful experience for my kids so far, but we haven't gotten to the egg-laying or processing part.
if they are only a week along I don't think that there would be any movement big enough for the egg to wiggle in the water. I would wait till they are at least 2+ weeks along. I would candle them to see if there is any movement in them.I grew up in Pains Hollow and Jordanville now I'am in Canajoharie. Broody hen has kicked three out of 18 eggs, been setting for about a week force her to get off the nest once a day to eat and drink. Should I water float the eggs at this point?
I have some nice yummy lemon tea that I have been drinking...along with some coffee. The hot drinks I feel help with breaking up the crap in my chest...at least I think that it helps. I like Vicks too! I slather myself up at night. My bedroom smells like a eucalyptus forest. I feel a little better today, but no where near 100%. I have so much to do, but between feeling like crap and the weather being crap not much is getting done.. When is this rain going to stop. really need a week of dry weather to dry up things around here...You would think that they could find a way to transport some of this rain to the West coast where they need it.Lady Hawke and luv...get some rest and feel better. Try drinking a cup of hot water with half a lemon squeezed in it several times a day. I find it helps a lot when you are feeling tired and poorly. Peppermint is good for breathing issues and asthma, as well as stomach aches.
I have it in raised beds. It does help.I hear you! I tried to get some rhubarb going here and it never took off. I am going to have to try again, since I'd really like to have some growing!
I try planting in different locations. My friend has a patch that is amazing, mine has been trying to grow for a few years and doesn't really do much![]()
