NY chicken lover!!!!

Thanks, but she doesn't have welshies or I totally would! Welshies are very rare, especially good stock, unfortunately. I actually split the holderread order with her, she got Saxonies. I know she lost one of hers too, I wonder if the others are doing well.

Wow. Who knew it could take half hour to count to 18. Dang chickens and their blasted hiding spots. A hawk spotted either the chickens or something else that looked tempting. Well so sorry no chicken buffet for them tonight.

Hens without a Rooster tend to be more friendly - you are their family

I Will probably bring my EE , Brahma . Americana ( no tail ...they look so funny ) to chickenstock if I dont sell them on craigs list ..
I dont need 38 chickens ...AAAhhh..18 babies is somewhat overwhelming

If I can't get the eggs for Brahmas, I'd probably like some from you.

1 EE but he doesn't count cause he is definitely NOT a hen. I do love the beards and muffs that EE's have.

So far I have 13 chicks -
3 Black sex links
3 Red Stars
1 RIR
3 Marans X
1 Black Austolorpe
1 Ayam Cerami
1 EE Roo
funny aside from my barred rocks my red stars are my favorite adult hens

Welcome to all the newcomers! Tab, so sorry for the loss of your birds. My broody here hatched six of the ten eggs I gave her from you and they are doing great. All are either frizzled or NN or both.

I have two new additions - peachicks! Both from eggs impulse bought on the auction thread. I only bought two eggs, and they both hatched. They're adorable and friendly little things. I'm also sad - I'm down to two ducklings left from my Holderread order. They just kept dying off at one a week. These last two seem strong, and at this point they are very expensive ducklings, so I hope they live. I also may not have any females left since I only got three in the order and one was DOA, and the rest were males. So I'm gonna have to try to track down some eggs from good quality parent stock to hatch to boost my numbers or I may not have any females for next year.
yay! you got the peachick eggs! you need to post pics, oh can you meet tomorrow around 11? still need to ask M or maybe she will see on here. too bad about the ducklings

Luv- MJ is such an amazing mothers the little 4" tall millies walk around like they own the joint they are about as big as my roosters foot (or smaller) but even he doesn't mess with them lol, also i was wondering what roos may have been with Lady Lola (sizzle) i hatched the cutest baby from her, i mill have to get some pics tomorrow!
I'm so glad. She is such a good girl. I don't know if I ever told you that MJ was short for "Maddy Jr." after my daughter. There were 3 roosters that it could be from. I have a black frizzled cochin (her dad) a black sizzle with white leakage (brother) and silver laced cochin roo. You will have to get some pictures.

Pyxis-I am so glad your hatch went well! Crazy4chicks had 11 of 12 hatch of the eggs from me (marans with 1 OE). Well my fertility isn't the problem. I was thinking temp/humidity are my problem.

Sounds adorable! Keep an eye on it, if the father was either one of the frizzled birds it could be a frazzle and have issues down the road :( I could meet tomorrow but I would have to leave to get back to Fair Haven by 3:30 so Friday would be better if possible but if not I can make it work :) I'll get pics of the peachicks! I really want to know what color they are - either opal or india blue, I'm hoping for india blue.

Mom is a smooth sizzle and if the dad was one of the frizzled it should be fine. Only get a frazzle when you breed frizzle to frizzle
