NY chicken lover!!!!

YAY!!!! I picked up the boys this morning. The girls have no interest in them yet so they are getting full coop/run access for the moment. The girls are all in the compost pile. Scrappy my dog is not a fan of the crowing so he hid.

Well my neighbor has had the town code officer write me again about my chickens. Apparently he would like for us to move our coop/run to have more of a "buffer zone" so its further away from his windows on the back of his house. I guess his bedroom window is close to the coop. My oldest chickens are silkies and they haven't started laying yet. The others are still fairly young. The silkies only chat with me when I go back there, they are very quiet.

I am all about trying to work things out, but my coop/run is stationary and I have no clue about how I would be able to make it a tractor or move it. Here is a picture of the coop, if you have ideas please share.

I really have compromised with this guy, not sure what else I can do
Is the house in his name or still the parents? If parents wright them note are your other neighbor having problems with him? Ask the codes officer to have him tape the noise give you in-sight to what his hearing.

Do they have a shelter near you ? or you thinking about a puppy ?
Ive wished for a dog with the coons in our corn again ..
They got used to the music ..So last night they listen ed to the Philies game & had a light out there ..
It worked the night before ...no sign of them
they could have the corn ...except they trample everything else too
...and pull down the fence so then the chickens can get in ..they head right to the pink tomatoes ...:/

Still waiting for the baby turtles to hatch ...Takes sooo Long

Not sure yet. I did get some solar lights on clear aND if they work well I will get more tomorrow to put around the coops. Right now I have 2 on each silkie coop. Got those cleaned and put the last two bags of leaves in little big man's run. It needed it. Finally got up the white fence around Legolas coop so theyes can be out when everyone else is. Of course the little brats fit throught the holes so they are out. Not even going to try and catch them. Just have to do the big coop later when I turn the monsters loose. It's so nice out!

I've got a single C.Rock chick, hoping for another to hatch. Should be one soon. I know if I give it away another will hatch, considering my luck. I'm hoping the Del egg hatch. Can't say what the problem is with them. The three marans eggs under a hen at duds I fear. I'll candle tonight.

That I'll be three ages coming up.

Will be moving the older ones to their designated coops. Hope they settle in okay.

Won't be an empty coop this winter so if it's a mild one that will be good.

I've just about had it with these darned ads that run automatically!

They're on every site and it messes things up.

Eveningall. Got the big coop cleaned as well so everyone's house but mine is clean!!! Put the solar lights in and got the fence up. Legolas and girls are happy to be in the larger run area now. The nosey monsters and terrorists were under foot while I was cleaning and walking back and forth. Almost tripped me couple of times. Reworked the nesting boxes so hopefully they won't kick out the pads any more. Beautiful evening. Just waiting for the steak to finish on the grill so we can have a nice dinner. I feel accomplished and happy!

Sounds lovely! Good job!

Today was a total success! !!! Thank you to all you great chicken people! !! After a long day of inspection first through the fence then free range together. My girls happily welcomed their boy toys to sleep snuggled on the roost between Bertha, the queen of the coop, and Crooked, a very dominant WL. I see many good times on the way.

Things I shouldn't consider before coffee are too many to mention. One of the many is what I'm going to do with my chickens. So far, the rooster has only bothered me. My kids and husband sleep right through it and the neighbors haven't complained to me yet. So, maybe I could really keep a good rooster. Maybe I could breed project chickens. Maybe I should build up the big barn to be a romantic getaway for the lucky couples and trios. Maybe I could... All this was triggered by the assumption that over half of my chicks are probably cockerels, including a couple of my favorites. A couple of the pullets are not my favorites, so maybe I could sell or swap them. All this before coffee.
After coffee: the rooster is still crowing an hour later. The chicks are only 3 weeks old so I won't know how many are cockerels for a little while yet. Projects can be expensive. Keep best chickens. Sell or eat worst chickens. Wait until spring to determine plan for spring. Need more coffee.

Good morning, everyone. I hope you all have a fabulous last week of August.
