NY chicken lover!!!!

I'm also in the process of deciding what's next for my flock. I'm going to Cobleskill for the enyspa show at the end of this month. I'm hoping to sell a few birds and get some ideas for next spring. I'm really loving the Brahmas, Ameraucanas, Marans, Welsummers, and Legbar I have. The mixed chicks are so fun too. So many choices.
Do you have any pullets ?
Does anyone have laying hens to sell ?
I have a ad for Cockerals on Craigs list... everyone is "do you have any pullets ../ Hens ...? " AAAHHHHHH..
I I had them to sell ...I would list them ..LOL
If I had more I would sell them some ..with only 6 out of 18 ..Im not sure I will part with any of them

I'm selling out all my geese ducks.

Sebastapol geese, grey sb goose, blue gander, Lav/splash gander, 2 goslings, unsexed. One all darkgrey I think is a girl. The other is splash/lavender.

A trio of Pekinnducks, hatched last spring.

PM me for prices.

Hi ladies,

I love hearing about everyones day with their chickens. Not the sad stories of course but the fun ones and the funny stories you all have. We have a pond down the road and I've been wanting to get some ducks or geese but the pond is the towns and you never know what could come of them. We had one of the white geese come by our home one day "honking" for food. cute little guy. We've called him our Christmas Goose because he's so pretty and smart. lol He's since gone back to his farmer though.

OOOoooooh Lavendar Orpingtons. They are absolutely beautiful! Where could I get a couple of those hens? I'm guessing it wouldn't be until next spring right? How much do they run?
I got two from someone around the Ithaca area but I'm not sure where you are located. I got them about a month ago. One turned out to be a roo...love him but I think it would cause a noise problem. I paid $12.

TO: Everyone,

I like when I post hens and roosters AND that they must take the all and they reply, I'll take the hens, but not the roosters. Now I'm not stupid, well most of the time, but I don't expect them to host a rooster retirement home. Nor can I. So if they eat them, I should be surprised?

The only reason I don't eat them is I'm not up to killing, plucking and gutting a rooster. I close my eyes for the gory stuff on CSI.

For what it's worth, Buckwheat IS broody. She must be about six years old. If you remember she's the one who swelled up and I expected to die but then the swelling went down and she began to lay again? Well she's sitting on three eggs. I just couldn't deny her if she's up to it. She is swollen some but hey, I'm just me what do I know about hens who want chicks?

School is open and I'm back volunteering in the kitchen and happy as a clam.

OH! Today 39 years ago we tied the knot. So something good did happen on 9/11. Some friends took us to The Krebs in Skaneatles for dinner last evening. It was very good. A bit out of my comfort zone but I like to push myself now and then. Waitress came with the food and explained all about the ingredients. At one point we had four waiters at the table! Very nice. Should you go expect to spend some money.

Well take care and have a good day.

I hear the marsh daisy rooster crowing but I know they girls aren't ready to lay yet. The CR's take a bit longer to mature. Even the roosters. Dels are quicker.

Does anyone have virus software on their Tablets? If so what?

I have it on this computer but not on my tablet. Yet!

Happy anniversary, Rancher.
Gramma, I was quite frustrated with the responses to my ads too. Especially, "I'll take all the hens," when I clearly listed day old chicks.
Purpletie, I had to look up Barbezieux. I'm always looking at rare exotic breeds and then opting against them because I'm not sure I'd do justice to keeping up the breed. Good luck!
I moved my small coop today, so the pair I'm trying to sell have fresh grass and bugs.
I got to visit the chicks I gave to my SIL. They are so cute. I gave her two Ameraucanas, 3 Welsummers, and a splash Marans. 4 pullets 2 cockerels. It's nice to know where they are and watch them grow.
