NY chicken lover!!!!

Just a heads up for anyone who shops at TSC. They're having a sale called Flocktoberfest this month and some poultry stuff is on sale. You van pick up a booklet with a coupon for a dollar off a bag of Dumor feed too, which can be used in November. Don't see why you couldn't grab a couple. For anyone that doesn't know Dumor feed is just Purina rebranded for TSC.

I got a coupon from the ALBC census page. $2.00. I also got booklets at the NYS Fair for TSC with a 10% off coupon. I snagged a few.

I like Dumor chick starter, but it's gotten expensive. I may have to go to CM and see what they're charging. I think the chick starter is up due to the AI thing and large farms needing lots of it.

Was at Runnings the other day and they had a fan blowing on some bags of feed. What's up with that? I check the dates for sure on their feed bags.
I'm waiting on some plastic that is rainchecked. It's been awhile and I need it NOW! They have another brand but wouldn't make the switch. Same price and all. DW went and bought me some at HD since I can't wait. Rainy and cold, winter is coming. I'm trying to get things situated before the really cold weather is here. My hoops need new plastic as they're leaking.
Point? I'm still not sure how I feed about Runnings. They may be a pain in the butt store. You know the type? Advertise but don't have the stuff in? Waste of time driving there just to get upset? If so I'll just toss their ad and not even look at it.

I ran onto this supply company for greenhouse and farming things...Amish crew in PA. But, they are reasonably priced if anyone is interested in a resource...I bought my strawberry baskets there, I was looking at their coldframes too.

You said it....winter is coming. I am behind the gun. No heat in the house yet. (Furnace work to do)
The old farmhouse where I am brooding my chicks is has a full tank of oil .....LOL ...go figure! Anyhow!

Sorry Rachner for for $100.00 I think I'd rather sneak a dairy animal into the garage_) Trying to find unpasteurized milk under $8.00 a gallon around here is crazy!
Gramma : is that dog smirking? love his coloring.
Welocme to all the new members

Well now I can't argue with that. I too would like to add some animals but I just can't afford a cowses or pigses or goatses or sheepses. I need to build a place for them and clear some land and I'd like some Jacob Sheepses. Seen then on CL. Oh I'd need a truck too.

Well the chain saw broke today. I think the chain is the problem. It came off and now won't fit the bar. I think Doofus messed it up. He screws up everything. He's rough and I hate him to use my tools. You can't tell him anything. He's like a bull. If you want him to do something just challenge him.

Still lots to do though. Bought some more plastic, strung some more lights. Getting ready to turn the incu on. I figure DW can care for chicks for a week while I run down to FL and see my GK's before they head north.

Don't hold off on that furnace. We've already turned ours on. It's too cold.

I am tired.

Rancher, needs a nap, Hicks.

Barbezieux chicks on rba right now, auction ends at 6:30p. More expensive than eggs, but they come pre-hatched

.
Lots of roosters here. No barbs tho. Good luck finding the lucky guy!
In one way I am glad I missed this because I may have bid on 12 more chicks...when I only really need the rooster. LOL!!!!

Thanks for letting me know. I did find a farm that sells the eggs per dozen $90 + shipping but they are in CA....rough ride from there...Lots of scrambling!
