NY chicken lover!!!!

Pediatric dentist, he accepts our insurance. The ones here wanted all the money up front. Fiona had to have caps.

That's how our kids dentist we had before is, we paid, ins. reimbursed us. Not bad for small stuff IF you have the $. The dentist they have now is not pediatric, they apparently are hard to find and even harder to find that takes our ins. blue cross blue shield. The place we liked near Binghamton said they took our ins. insisted on it, then we were sent a big bill, argued for awhile, we wouldn't have went there if we were not lied to, I was just going to ignore them but wife agreed to settle for half the bill so it didn't hurt our credit.
One pediatric near Binghamton we were referred to that does take our ins. We got there 15mins early, waited a hr after the appt time, asked, were told about another hr! Wife took the kids to the bathroom, came out and said we were leaving. "the bathroom is the most disgusting nastiest one I've ever been in, doesn't look like it's been cleaned in months, they are not touching my kids teeth if the place can't keep a bathroom clean".....

And all the phone calls I made trying get somebody. I was worried sick, she was 3 at the time. Dr Newman is who the girls see and he was a god send. He works with us and he cares about the kids.

I went to close the coop tonight and couldn't find one of my chickens. Another chicken had a small amount of blood on her head (like the cockerel may have got her comb). I searched the yard for the lost chicken but couldn't find her. Hopefully I'll find her in the morning.

At least the weather is tolerable.
Have a happy weekend all.
Did she show up today?

I'm still pulling good fresh carrots out of the garden. Where I've cut down the kale it's growing back. I like this better than last winter.
A friend and I are starting raised beds tomorrow. We want to see what we can grow. She is doing the dark green things and I'm doing cold weather lettuce. We plan on sharing the stuff if it actually comes up.

Thank you everyone for your well wishes we are very excite to add our newest family member, had a scare the other day because at 19 weeks they still couldn't find the heart beat, but I had an ultrasound and he/she is perfect. The technician said it was probably because the placenta is placed on my belly side instead of my spine side. We get to go back and hopefully find out if our new bundle is he or she on the 22nd the day before my birthday and amazing birthday/Christmas gift :)

Good pediatric dentists are so hard to find, we travel almost 1 1/2 hours for our kids!

We have BC/BS and I don't pay when I go. You should check with your insurance and see who will take your insurance. They can give you a list.

I'm old, I know somethings. Once had GHI and they didn't tell us we needed to call to get the other half of our benefit each time we went to the ER. Years later I checked that state thing about lost money and guess what? They had a check for me.

Long story short check with your insurance and see who will take you. DO NOT expect the dentist to tell you. They want your business. They know they'll get paid. My DD works for BC/BS and DW worked for Crouse Hospital in their billing department.

Even if a dentist doesn't take your insurance, your Insurance should still cover you. We once had a stack of forms to fill out so we could bill the insurance privately. I would fill them out and they would mail us a check or to the Dr's office. Some Dr's don't want to pay for a billing clerk.

Too, you may not have to go to a designated pediatric dentist. I'll talk with DW and see what she says.

Again call your insurance company and ask for help.

Don't think I know what I'm talking about? We DS had a heart condition, the doctors office didn't tell us that it would be covered by the state since it was a birth defect. Well we struggled with the first couple of bills but when we found out we applied and his open heart was all covered. Dr. Blacks billing clerk never told us the state would cover his surgery.

So check with your insurance company and don't take the Dr. Office workers word.

And Tab if they're baby teeth I would not pay to have them capped. They're going to fall out. At least be sure it's necessary before you get scammed.

I once was going to switch Dentists to a Dr. where a friend worked. After my initial visit the Dr. sits me down and tells me I need $15,000 worth of work. I went back to my old dentist.

Everyone, do not trust the billing office. Check with your insurance company to see what's covered. You should have a copy of what is paid. As I said DW worked in the hospital billing office and you would not believe the things she's told me.

If you have questions about your health insurance please ask me and I'll see if I can help.

Please be sure you need a designated "pediatric dentist". Our kids always saw the same one we have for us. Don't be scammed.

OH and I just remembered not to long ago I got a statement from Pomco that they paid for blood work done in the doctors office. Only thing is I don't have blood work done in the doctors office. I go to an outside lab.

I called the doctors and office and told them. They said "oh yeah our mistake. We have to refund the money back to Pomco".

I keep a file and kept a file for each family member and in it was all the "EOB's" Explanation of Benefits. You should get one for EVERY TIME you see your doctor from your insurance carrier.

These are statements from your insurance company about what was paid for. Check this to see if it matches what you saw your doctor for and what was done.

TOO, my dentist wanted to put a cap on my molar. They sent to the insurance company to see how much would be paid and how much I'd have to pay. BEFORE the work was done.

STILL don't think I know what I'm talking about? Years ago I was having stomach problems. Lots of heart burn and all that. Doc, says "you need your gall bladder out". No stones mind you, just "gall sludge". Well I never had it done but I did change my diet to less fatty foods. Guess what? I still have my gall bladder.

I now take a pill (Nexium type stuff) every day and sometimes a couple of Gaviscon tablets if I start to feel heartburn coming on. OR if I know I'll be drinking or eating highly acidic foods.

Again if you have questions ask me and I'll see what I can find out.
