NY chicken lover!!!!

My broody Mayor should be hatching in just a few days. My incubator babies are set for lock
down on thev14th. Put in 24, 17 are still going strong. Three where not even fertlie, so think I'm doing pretty good thus far. Getting excited about the possibilitie.... Can't wait till my Grand-mille's are here!

Quote: I have not had problems with re uniting them with the flock ...but you might ..
Some suggestions :
Im sure it is fine ...I have used a Lg Dog cage ...
do you have a enclosed kitty litter box ?
That works great for the the nesting box ..Mama can keep that warm easily
You can remove it / the top & clean it out easily .
Babies will poop in there & it will get stinky
you might want to put a tarp on top of the brooder to cover it ...Birds tend to want to walk on the top

If anyone feels inclined goods vibes, loving thoughts, prayers are welcome. My loving husband, Greg,is going in for surgery on his cervical vertebrae on Tuesday morning at 530am. Greg has ruptured discs and bone spurs on his spinal column.
It's supposed to be a short surgery of 3hrs or so.
Recovery is 7weeks minimum. I will keep you posted.

I wish him a Safe Surgery ....and a Quick Recovery

Have I shared this picture of my half Canda goose goose in here? She and her sister are both getting white in their faces now and it's quite pretty.

Speaking of garlic- growing up my mom would give us "garlic tea" to get rid of the worst illnesses. Basically just smash several cloves of garlic and boil them in your teapot for a few minutes, then drink. It's not delicious, but it's not the worst ever, and after a cup or two of that you really kick out the bug. And sweat garlic for days! hahaha

Happily I woke up to 11 chicks out of 12 eggs. I had to help a few just to make sure they were getting air because they pipped the wrong end. But they hatched okay. I'm wondering if my turner didn't turn adequately and that's why I had a few do that. I ended up with 6 silkies, 3 super blue egg layers and 2 Carolina blue sex link EEs, one boy and one girl! One super blue egg layer may be crested!

Throat is still a problem, but I just had sherbet for breakfast...yummy!
