NY chicken lover!!!!

I thought I was out of the woods with this tonsillectomy recovery but early this morning I woke up and started spitting up blood. Went to the ER and apparently a scab came off too soon! I'm back on only soft and liquid foods

A new scab looks to be forming hopefully or I'll have to go back to surgery to recauterized my throat...ouch! Just trying to keep positive thoughts that I won't bleed again. Keep me all in your thoughts and send positive vibes my way!
Feel better soon. Liquid diets can be quite wonderful if you have a good base of ingredients. I often go liquid when I have a gallbladder/diverticultits attack. Best of luck for a quick recovery!

@Gramma Chick Sounds like it may be time for another lesson in staying upright on ice. If you find a class for it let me know. I'm constantly finding myself butt down and occasionally face down. Morin and a heat pack of some sort will keep the muscles from swelling. Fell better soon.

Canned broth is nasty salty ... if you buy canned gravy that has less salt ..with some veges could be a soup

Sorry to hear that ..do they ask you to not suck on things after ?
Like when they pull a tooth ..? they say dont suck on anything or it will dislodge the clot

Yes I haven't used a straw. My house is super dry, and despite using my humidifier I think that causes the scab to dislodge early.

Now you be careful and feel better yourself!

Thank you guys. Mouth is so sensitive. Stuff is too hot or too cold, needs to be room temp or Luke warm. My DH will be making me some good broth tomorrow. I tried some canned broth and it was super salty to me. Sticking to the Popsicles and sherbet...stuff like that.

I love all the suggestions. DW would say to me "why are you making jello?" I said I like jello. Then when I made it she ate it. I hope your husband feels better soon.
Well I did myself in ...Slipped down the deck snow covered steps ...
Didnt break anything thankfully ...

.
sprained bruised my wrist / hand ...cant pick up anything much with that hand .
But doing dishes seemed to help it ...

my back hurts where I hit the steps ( not on my backbone .) .just a spot under my rib ..where I have lots of padding .
My Hubby says ...you got watch out for falls now that you are 60 !

Now you get some rest and if you don't feel better in a day or so call the doc.

I once took a fall and thought nothing of it, til I was urinating blood and had my first kidney stone. That spot "under your ribs", so take care.

You have to watch out for falls even if you aren't 60.

I hate to say it but I laugh when I see my chickens slide on the ice.

None has gotten hurt but it does get icy on the path.

I however don't purposely toss them on ice like the fools in one of the Youtube videos.
