I cant remember if anyone does ...they will peep up if they do

Yeah it's funny how some come and some go on byc. The person that started this thread hasn't been on in yrs.

Yes most of the people at the beginning of the thread I dont recognize .
Thread Started in 8/19/09
Only ones that are familiar to me is chicken stalker & sonew123 .
Peoples life change ...they move ...they have kids..
kids leave the home... they have grand kids ..they lose their jobs , they get health problems etc

Marquisella - has had chickens for years ...she is older like me ..and chickens do tie you down some
I think she wants to focus on her family at this time in her life .

I myself wonder how long I will have chickens ...

( I do love them )
But at 60 I am no spring chicken and dont know if I will be able to take care of them when I am 70 ?
Right now they are ALL MY responsibility .
.I get feed for them , take care of and clean out the coop .
I was the one who gathered the 30 ? bags of leaves for their bedding .
I shoveled the gravel to put in front of the coop . I put up the plastic around the coop to winterize it .
i even have to collect the eggs ( the fun part ) ( Broody Hatching is the Fun Part too ..I love watching the chicks grow up )
The only thing I wont do ...I Wont Kill Them !
I live with 2 Men.. who eat the eggs happily ..
Rant ....

I think there was someone here working with them, but can't remember who.

My last hatch was awful. My attempt to work with Barnevelders resulted in one Barnevelder cockerel that I'm trying to sell. He's not blue, but is double laced. His egg originated from Texas.

Last thing that I hear about/from Marquisella was that she was selling all of her birds so that she could "pursue other interests". I know that she listed a few on some facebook groups. I don't think that her absence was from your comments.
I got some Brabanters from Marquisella as she was selling her chickens. I believe she left BYC because she "retired" so to speak. She was doing well at that time, just done with chickens.

Well now I tried to sell of my C. Rocks and Daisies in the fall but no takers. I don't want to give them away. BUT I can't get rid of all my chickens because I have Frenchy and at her age I wouldn't risk moving her.

If I down sized birds, I'd still have the same number of coops to deal with just less birds per coop.

The marans coop that hasn't laid in quite a while gave me 6 for 8 hens yesterday.

Anyhow, DW is going to TX and I can't go because I have the birds.

So I have the incu up and running and if things turn out well there'll be a few more chicks to raise or sell or give away.

I need to keep busy or die.

I may post the C. Rock hens by themselves since I have just the one rooster. I have to fix the roost as they're so heavy the bent it over.
