NY chicken lover!!!!

A good active thread on fermenting feed; https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/644300/fermenting-feed-for-meat-birds
I differ from how some on there do it though. Upon much reading up on the subject from many other various sources I do not add ACV, adding ACV makes it go acetic acid ferment, sauerkraut is a lactic acid ferment, letting the feed naturally ferment is lactic acid ferment, which I believe is better.
A pretty good audio podcast on the subject also, warning, long and boring, but a lot of good info, I did a load of dishes, peeled a few dozen eggs and pickled them listening to it;

Yes I dont add the ACV...just let it ferment naturally

A snowy hello from ski country of WNY. I'm about an hour south of Buffalo. What fun all this weather is huh? And I don't even ski /img/smilies/lol.png We only have 6 chickens (got rid of some roos at the Springville auction), but I'ld love to buy/swap with some local folks.

Hello Omani, nieghbor!! I'm a newbie located just south of you in Olean

You'd be shocked at what is in food if we knew everything. I don't recommend eating non fat foods or sugar free foods if the ingredient list is a mile long. Regular sour cream and cottage cheese has just two or three ingredients, milk, cream, enzymes. Non-fat....list is a mile long, mostly water and powders, gums, that TSP is in it, and white paint....
