NY chicken lover!!!!

So the short of it.

heard banging against the window, while I was trying to sleep. Though it was heavy rain.

it was a robin banging against the window. Landing on the sill and jumping up against the window.

chased it off and hung a large photo of myself against the inside but the bird came back.

Too the screen out and hung a piece of news paper against the inside of the window but the bird came back. Banging, trying to jump up on the window. Not sure why it was doing this.

No nest nearby, no bugs, no holes for building a nest, no baby birds on the side of the house. Couldn't see a reason it kept doing this. There were two robins, but this one seemed young but fully feathered.

Anyones thoughts?

I now have to wash the casing and side of the house as there is bird droppings.

I did have woodpecker once drilling a hole in unpainted wood but fixed that. No reason for robins against the house.

Sometimes birds don't perceive a window as a closed window, and just see it as an entryway - the picture will probably help them distinguish it as "not an entry" at the very least. If you ever keep the windows open, they might be used to getting in. Had that happen at an old job.

Up or Down ?
I find this FUNNY ..incubators do this
Hens dont DONT ..Hens hatch eggs on the side ...
Hens will also get out of the nest for a few minutes ..so eggs  do cool a bit ..they also turn/ roll  them
Whats Important
1) Fertility 2) even heat 3 ) regularly turned eggs

The hovabator I got from incubator warehouse comes with a turner that rolls the eggs now on they're sides "just like in nature" you have to pay more for the other turner. I believe those Rcom incubators roll the eggs also.
Supposed to work with any size egg without changing anything. Says it will hold 42 chicken eggs, I don't think I'll get 42 in it, one of my giants is consistently laying long 86 gram eggs. They are not double yolkers either thank goodness.

Hmm, why you allowing this? Have you called the cops? I wouldn't allow anyone on my property for any reason other than to visit. I wouldn't care if they had a smell my flowers fetish, ain't happening.

Hello everyone!

How are you all doing? It looks like we're all planting. We're getting the garden tended to and with the nicer weather are REALLY excited!, I got the greenhouse up and am ready for good weather to come. The chickens are absolutely funny these days. Though I noticed that they managed to pull apart the concrete foundation of the cellar. We're getting estimates. I fear that it could be an expensive project and am praying for favor over it all.

I found out my husband has to work for Chicken Stock 2016. He'll try to switch with someone so we can go. We'd love to meet everyone.

So, I can't remember WHO gave the tip this past fall on Garlic, but my garlic is growing for the first year EVER!!! Now I'd like to know when and how to harvest it. Could the person who shared the tip on growing garlic successfully please speak up so I can give you a standing ovation please???!!!!

I can't count the number of times we've called them. We know most of the police force by name now, and it's not a small police force. The thing is, this guy can be there and gone in a matter of seconds - probably a career burglar. Thus the gun. They won't do anything if he's not on the property when they get there.

So be it. It's a lot harder to ignore a guy with a bullet in him.

please make sure the icky guy leaves a blood trail STARTING behind your fencing, and make sure your gates are locked. Ask an officer exactly how to not to get in trouble.

Can you put up a game cam to get proof that he is trespassing? I can't imagine that the police could do nothing if you showed up with solid proof he was on your property. And if they still do nothing, it's time to get a lawyer. Especially if he is killing your animals.

I agree with the trail cam and the gun. If one doesn't work the other dang sure will. I live in between 3 very animal friendly families that help protect my critters. The man across the street has only one condition to keeping an eye out. When we process he wants to be at the top of the customer list. I would get in a lot of trouble if someone pestered my critters.

I hadn't thought about it, but you are right Gramma! Does anyone just put their eggs in on their side? If so, what's the hatch rate?
Kind of an up and down week here - finally got

the Bredas that Phoredaburds had been saving for me - beautiful. Just have to find them a husband now...
