NY chicken lover!!!!

I have a beautiful little silver laces polish who suffered from a rooster attack on Sunday. I brought her in bathed her and got her all clean and sterile. Then I put triple antibiotics ointment on her sore and vet wrapped it. She is doing great today, even though she looks horrible. The roo pulled all her face feathers out and put a gash on her face. She is eating and getting rowdy again. Now that I have had to bring her back in can't even sell her.

Me too, but I don't do jewelry. Lord have mercy at ever craft fair there are tons of jewelry makers. Welsummers that's what I need.
I mostly make it for myself, I'm not very good at it. However, I have seen worse for sale. I like the Welsummers for the dark eggs, and I hope to get speckled ones

I bake, cook, garden build things big and small, and run a chicken retirement home.
I'm an awful cook. I burn grilled cheese/rice/veg soup. I overcook scrambled eggs. My mac and cheese comes out grainy... But I make good cake, great cookies, and amazing bread.

A chicken retirement home? That is a very sweet idea!

it was by accident that I started it. One of my original WL hens has wry neck and I just kept acquiring more needy birds. I have a blind barbanter who raises my chicks, a wry neck duck who is the guard dog and beats the roosters up. Along with those I have 2 cx that are 5 months old, roughly 30 more 5 month Olds of various breeds and 7 2 year Olds. There are also a bunch of 1 year old mix breeds. For a grand total of--- who knows I don't count I just memorize feather patterns.

poor Dear ...do you know which one did it ?

So things went down hill with my rented pasture. A fox family lives under the ban and I'm not permitted to dispatch it. The good news is I now have an additional acre and a half of my own backyard property to use. The only problem with that is it's wooded. I hope I find a better place to rent some day. I'll be bringing whatever chickens I have when I do.

Did the landowner say you couldn't dispatch it? Otherwise fox are fair game until Feb 15 I think, small game license to shoot or trapping license to trap. If it is killing your chickens they are fair game anytime, your allowed to protect your livestock from any animal except birds of prey.
Woods are OK for a coop, keep them shaded in the hot summer.
