NY chicken lover!!!!

Did the landowner say you couldn't dispatch it? Otherwise fox are fair game until Feb 15 I think, small game license to shoot or trapping license to trap. If it is killing your chickens they are fair game anytime, your allowed to protect your livestock from any animal except birds of prey.
Woods are OK for a coop, keep them shaded in the hot summer.

The homeowner said not to. They figure they have had a den there for some time and they are nature lovers. They don't want to see us spending money on the pasture and fancy birds just to have them killed. They already figured out how to dig under the electric fence.

I apologize in advance but I'm about to go on a mini rant. I like to browse the hatching eggs on eBay when I'm bored and just to see what's available and lately people have been sticking 'hatching eggs' in their listing title of unrelated items to make people see them. Not only is that against eBay listing practices, it is very annoying.

But worst of all is lately a seller on there has been titling their listings "gamefowl hatching eggs" and what they are selling is, well, gear and supplies to use in that thing people do with gamefowl that we are not supposed to talk about on BYC. Right now they have up for sale several of the metal spikes that people will attach to the rooster's legs after they cut their spurs off so that the birds can deal more damage.

I've now taken to reporting all listings that keyword spam and this seller in particular. Hopefully something is done about it.

I check out Ebay sometimes for the same, just curious, haven't seen any unrelated items but I only look occasionally. That one though, pretty sure beings 'it' is illegal in the US, more than likely anything used for the purpose is also illegal? (can't find anywhere that says so) It's not like they are selling something under the rug, like calling a 'bong' a tobacco water pipe. What do you use metal spurs for? Extra predator protection? I bet they are illegal, and good call, report it! Report it directly to Ebay, not just as spam, make sure they know.

Why do folks apologize for a rant? We all get annoyed or upset now and then. Not that I'm in authority but I don't mind ranting. Sometimes it's how we air things. I've often said, "It sounded good in my head". Once we put it out there we see things differently. In this case Lord have mercy they should be reported. Animal abuse is uncalled for IMO.

I've been mindlessly perusing things and then up pops and adult themed ad. Good garden o' peas! What if a child is looking on Ebay. So thanks for reporting this ad.

So lets hope we see a t shirt with "RANT AND CARRY ON".

Glad the ads are gone.
