NY chicken lover!!!!

It's been a while but it never has drained well. It's very wet here in the spring and fall. The drainage is poor and we don't have access to a sewer system.

if it has been more than 2 years you should have it pumped out .
You wont regret it ...you dont want it backing up into your house...
That should help ..it wouldnt need to drain as much
Are you using baby wipes ? they can clog ..also some toilet paper is better than others for the septic system

It doesn't drain well when it is wet outside. Every winter thaw and spring rainy season it doesn't drain and clogs up. The back yard where the leach field is has puddles. I'm tired of this happening and when it does I have to open it up and push the clog out of the way so it the toilet will go down.

I had a guy here today to look at it and am waiting for and estimate.

I don't know who installed this system.

That sounds like a drain field issue to me. They should do a dye test.

Would nt hurt ...to try it
A full septic wont drain and backs up also
Yes, but she says it happens when there is a lot of rain, which indicates to me that the drainfield is not functioning properly and is becoming overly saturated. If it were a matter of the tank being full then the symptoms would persist regardless of the weather.

Rancher is a he .....LOL...but you cant tell that from the screen name ..
That makes sense ....If a tank was full ..wouldnt it over stress the drain also ...
With a empty tank ..wouldnt it drain less ? or the same ?
I think a pump should help ...it may be a quick fix ...
and cheaper than having everything all dug up and replaced ...which could get expensive ..Maybe ?
