What breeds were his parents? He looks to have a very small comb.
Are you sure about that minimum order? I just ran my zip and they quoted me 6 bantams; 4 large or 5 mixedI have ordered a min of 6 from them before.
Hi Peep This. Welcome. I frequently go to the Herkimer TSC and will let you know what they have. I plan to have EE hatching by Chickenstock, but unfortunately I can't sex them and won't know their gender until >8 weeks old usually. I usually sell them straight run for 2-5/chick depending on what I set. I know my SIL is hatching some pretty egg colors now but don't know her plans. They aren't EE per say but have blue and brown egg laying genes.Yeah, until the end of March it's a 15 min. We are hoping to have them in the middle of March![]()
So Sorry He was a Beauty ...I hate it when I cant find a chicken ..
He was fine when I last saw him, he'd flown over the one fence to try to get back to his hens. He was pacing the fence line, and I figured I'd find him when I went to close up the coops. I think he got "lost" trying to find his way back to his hens. Poor guy, should have just let him stay with his ladies.
Later, when I looked for him, but it was pretty dark out there. When I found him this morning, he'd wandered into an area where there was tall weeds from last year, near the outside fence line. He didn't look injured, just very cold & all his neck/head feathers fluffed up. He might have been ok if I'd brought him inside, but I thought he'd perk back up with food and water. He wasn't that old either, hatched 2015.
Thankfully, though I do have some of his eggs in the incubator now & I'll see if I can collect more from his group, as it'll take awhile before the new rooster's genetics "effect".
