Take that back I have dealt with a Mink/Weasel before. One time when I first started raising chickens, I put some new babies out side in the recently built pen because it was a nice warm day. So I went to get lunch and when I came back my poor chicks were all decapitated accept one:-( I have since learned from my mistakes.

I've never dealt with a mink before. But I have dealt with Foxes, Coons, etc.

It is the one animal I dread . Some people have shot them , Some people can trap them ..
It is a animal you are not supposed to trap and release some where else ...
According to NYS Dept. of Environmental Conservation you need a permit to kill but what you do is your own business

This storm has got me in a bit of a predicament.

Hatching eggs were supposed to arrive, but they weren't shipped for fear of them being stuck on a plane for days. But, I really need to set them by early next week - we were planning to set the incubator up in a kindergarten classroom, and if I set them after next Wednesday they won't hatch before spring break!

So my options are - ask if the sellers can wait a month - if they can't: buy more eggs for the class, buy my own incubator and set these eggs them when they arrive at home.

My Main Roo has no points because I closed up the coop Completely one Frosty night ...
Your Roos Combs got Frostbite because your coop was too air tight ..There needs to be a place for it to vent Moist air out .
I always open the coop gate & hen house in the day for it to vent all moisture also

I suggest perhaps getting a couple of these. Cut a small hole near the ceiling of your coop and screw them in. If you have concerns about predators put some hardware cloth on the inside. As long as air can flow through it will draw the moisture out and away.

Sort of like this. Only with the vents on opposite sides the wind will blow across your roof and "draw the moisture out and away". You could install a top vent if you choose.

Do any of you guys and gals in WNY have problems with Minks? I just recently saw a Mink near my coop!

Mink/weasel traps are not hard to build. Though a bait rat trap did the job for me. Its was a small weasel after mice. In fact it had a mouse when I came acrossed it in the path. It jumped into the side of the snow bank and then ran into my garage. If you can not cut the lumber yourself ask the folks at HD to do it for you.

will work for squirrels too. I put rat traps nailed to a tree. They get in the coop and steal the eggs.

I think the wooden ones would last longer and work best. You can find instructions all over the internet and on Youtube.

What snow? There is hardly any here. Last night at the store I was running from the moment I clocked on til the time I literaly walked out the door.
