NY chicken lover!!!!

no word back yet from the seller on what these guys might be.. **update** just heard back from seller...very odd response that I can't really make out what she is even trying to say (other than she has no idea what they are) Hi there! I'm so sorry for the delay. I have been sick and I've had some new foster kids come in... I honestly don't know what eggs those could be. I work at a poultry auction and I by hatching eggs for my personal incubator. That week I didn't have enough space so I sold the eggs. The guy who sold the eggs is a very well known breeder here. Not sure what those could be but to be honest, I have hatched one just like it and I still do t know what it is. I'm so sorry about that. They even have feathered feet. Mine doesn't have the feathered feet. So strange. Again I'm so sorry I likely won't be using rarebreedauctions again. Both orders had super shady type things happen. I'm just glad I didn't invest too much with this lesson learned

Wow. So she bought the eggs at an auction so she can't even attest that the parent stock are healthy and disease free, then sold them on, shipped them to you with probably no knowledge of how old they were so she didn't even know they would be viable when they got to you, and she had no way to know for sure that they were actually what they were supposed to be? Clearly they aren't what they were supposed to be. I hope you leave her a bad review and demand your money back, because I certainly would. Who is this seller? I use RBA sometimes and I definitely don't want to buy from her. Seriously, ask for your money back. If she refuses, do a chargeback through Paypal. That's unacceptable.

Those chicks almost look like blue laced red Wyandottes, but their heads are quite dark...and those feathered legs...

I'd leave a bad review. It seems very dishonest to sell eggs you got from an auction without stating that in the listing.

hahah yes they are husky :) lol

Yes I do have concerns about the whole situation - and specifically her lack of knowledge. I have therefore kept these chicks away from my other birds thus far (just in case). They seem healthy. I am glad that I at least purchased eggs and not chicks from someone with this type of logic. I was cool about it and only asked for part of my money back. I will likely still leave a bad review. Sometimes I'm too nice and I have a hard time leaving bad feedback to someone I had conversations with. She seems pretty clueless so I would at least want to give others a heads up. The seller is Jlc1120

I am absolutely loving these Calls. They are so friendly. Other ducklings are usually a bit skittish or standoffish even when you hatch them yourself, but these guys come running to the side of the brooder when I walk over. When I put my hand in, they are all over me, climbing into my hand, exploring me with their beaks, nibbling on my sleeve.

I had to do some brooder maintenance today after a week of them being in there (17 ducklings and a gosling in a brooder will do that) and I decided to use an old feed scoop to scoop the bedding out instead of pulling them all out, putting them in a box, cleaning the brooder, etc. I thought they would be afraid of the scoop. Nope. Hardest part of the whole thing was not accidentally scooping up a duckling with the dirty bedding!

I'm hooked. Already have ten keepers picked out.
