Caught the guinea. It's kinda pretty. Will scour the neighborhood again for its owner in the morning, but if I can't find anything, it's free to good home. Healthy bird, no bugs found on him/her. Likes chickens.

Looks like a buff dundotte, if you wanted to know the color Wish I could have taken her from you yesterday! I say her because buff dundotte females are usually the ones that are darker in color like that. You can tell for sure by her calls. If she makes a two toned call that kind of sounds like 'buckwheat', she's a female.

I wish we were closer too! My two adult males would love her, lol. They're stick waiting until this year's keets grow up to have girlfriends, unfortunately.

Hi all! I live in Holland Patent NY (Oneida county). It's just about an hour east of Syracuse. I'm brand new to raising chickens and ducks this year! I have 5 hens, 1 rooster and 6 ducks. They are all 10 weeks old. They are all doing great except for my rooster. I have no idea what's wrong with him. He seems to be favoring his right leg A LOT and doesn't seem to be able walk very far at all. He is eating and drinking and pooping. His feathers aren't in great shape and the hens seem to like to sit on his back quite a lot. I've checked his feet to be sure nothing is wrong there. He grew so quickly that I thought perhaps that might have something to do with it? I just don't know what to do at this point except make sure he is still eating and drinking. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

HELP! my rooster was attacked this morning!

he is still alive but holding his head under his body. His neck may be injured? I am looking for advice or anything on it right now. I'm not sure if I might have to just kill him so that he isn't suffering because I don't see any open wound areas. It just seems to be his neck area.

SO SORRY..if his neck is injured ( broken ) he should die quickly ..It could be a injury pulled muscle ?

Assuming he is not a cornish ...they grow VERY FAST..and have joint leg problems .
Did he fall or hit anything while flying ?
He may have a broken leg bone ..
He should be separated ..
Can you put him in a small dog cage inside or next to the coop ?
as a sick injured chicken will be dominated by the others ..as you have seen .
Feel the leg for a dislocation or bump ...You might try a splint on that leg
Popsicle sticks and vet wrap to see if that helps

Thank you so much for the advice. I think that I did feel a bump. I'll try to splint it and see if that helps. I'll let you know how he does. I really hope to be able to save him
