NY chicken lover!!!!

Anyone else worried about this sudden cold snap? Our big coop isn’t done so i squished my 12 girls into the small prefab coop for the night. 6 of them usually sleep on top of it and the other 6 sleep under its nesting boxes. I’m so worried about them!

I’m not the most experienced here but if it were me I would leave them where they have been rather than lock them into that small space, the lack of ventilation for that many in that small of space is probably worst than the cold temperature.

Needed to share this. Came home from work yesterday and my 9 yr old showed me an egg we got yesterday. She altered the packaging a bit!

I disagree, I have a couple sick birds now that didn't go in lastnight. One 8 hour night won't hurt them at all. Cold is more of a threat than cramped sleeping quarters.
They may have not went in because they were already sick .
With chickens sometimes it is hard to tell ..as they hide symptoms real well
I have found that sick birds dont act normal ..
They dont roost ...they dont come in the coop at night..
They are easily chased by others
