Snow day! Have my Frazzle serama roo in the house for a bath and warm up by the wood stove.

He is cute ...Why the bath ? was he muddy ?

Nope, Frazzles cannot keep themselves as warm and need special care so the bath keeps him clean, gets the pin feathers out of the sheathing, and keeps his feathers in better shape so they don’t break so easy. Also keeps his skin nice as they are prone to skin problems. He’s spoiled.

The weather. Ugh.
My SIL took in my pullets and extra cockerels. I have 4-5 cockerels to process and 3 old hens. I just spent the morning making them oatmeal. The early onset of this cold weather is taking its toll. My old girls are not tolerating it well.

Mine aren’t showing any signs of stress. I was worried about the 5 week olds with the broody and a little 4 month old pullet that seemed to stop growing at 2 months old she is the size of a soda can but all is well. 4 degrees in the coop this morning, -10 outside with the wind chill. I brought them out crumble mash made with hot water and mixed in scrambled eggs with dried herbs. Then threw some scratch to keep them moving.
