NY chicken lover!!!!

They're all two years old you've said, so you would have seen signs of one being a rooster far before now - they're all hens :) Some hens just crow. Like my Coriander, my bantam hen I was telling you about. She always lives in the house in winter, and she lays eggs in her cage for me. And crows :p
Pyxis, How Neat....keeping Coriander in the house for Winter Eggs.
Super idea. Aria

Looking for someone to chicken/turkey sit for just two weekends. My regular chicken sitter just changed her plans. I live in Ridge, Long Island. It would be for the 10, 11, 17 and 18 - opening up, food water and clean. Will pay $10 day.
Thanks, Karen
Oh man!! I just saw this. I'm in Ridge too. If you ever need a baby sitter in the future let me know.

Hi guys. Been a while since I have gotten updates from this thread. I missed a lot. No more chickens or ducks. Just the emus, mini zebu, and mini pigs. One of my pigs is in a contest to be in a calendar. If you have Facebook and would be willing, click the link below and like her photo for me please?! Every like counts as a vote. Her name is Callie and she is a rescue so she deserves to be on a calendar and admired by many! Thanks guys!

Hi everyone!

I haven't been in here in a while. Long time, no see!

Well, sadly I think we have a rooster. The sad part is 1. my neighbors aren't happy and 2. while I thought we had a rooster when they were younger 2 years ago, he hasn't started crowing until...LAST WEEK. Has anyone had that happen before?

So, this means I need to rehome him BUT I have to catch who it is. I kind of wonder if I have TWO but sometimes the hens look alike. So I have to figure out which one is crowing.

ALL my chickens are so tender and sweet. I'm really upset about this. Had he not been so vocal for my neighbors to complain, I would have still kept him. Thing is, I don't want him to go for meat.

Would anyone local to CNY want a rooster if we can figure out which one is crowing (and I have my guess). He's a smaller white guy if I'm right and he is not mean at all. In fact, hopefully he wouldn't be picked on by another bigger guy.

I'll put up a picture in a little while in hopes people can help me figure out who is who. There's an Australorp that seems to remind me of a rooster too but I don't want to give away the wrong one. They ALL are my sweeties. It's breaking my heart to have to give one away. But I'd only give him to someone who will love him. lol Any takers?
Nice to see you back - good luck with the rooster :)

Hi everyone, just got my very first Seram's. They are beautiful..They came from Jer Schex, and I was so worried about shipping after the horror stories I have read. But thank goodness they were fine, they are so tiny, so happy.

Hey guys, have some gorgeous Roos for sale. Some are silkies and others are silkie x serama. They are handled and held a lot so super friendly. Bred to be beautiful yard ornaments. They are PT and AI clean from my bloodlines. As you all know I am done breeding but a friend took over and they are getting some cool crosses. Prices are on their pic.
