sure was start to finish i got there bright and early this time ten minutes to 7am i was number 8 in line to sell this time. was a little crazy today though no heat they had to run generator for lights and computer. lol i talked my city girl mother into going this time she really liked it. and yes the silkies are taking over! i sold a black silkie trio and came home with a splash roo and blue hen lol
bidding was a bit higher this time compared to last time but still a bit low i think the enecomy is getting hit hard. hatching eggs did alot better this time compared to last time. there was alot of potenial buyers but not alot of comsignments. ended early at 2pm. alot of people went home empty handed. but it is always fun.

any one else go today?

Well if any of us cast a stone at the other at this point for coops or chickens OR hatching for that matter I think feathers would fly (okay that is a sick sick pun!!!!) We're all so addicted to chickens I think we probably have feathers still stuffed in our pockets cause there is no other place to put a chickie!

I have to admit this is a GOOD addicition but it's like my gardening, ooohhhh another plant I don't have (I need that, yeah right....) chickens are the same way - they give you fun, beauty, relaxation, and eggs - plants while they don't talk give you relaxation beauty and fun too along with food. Can't be anything wrong with those two addictions. The other would be a good glass of wine for me - sigh.....mmmm love merlot

Maybe all us NY'rs should find a place somewhere in between like Smallbany (yes, I called it that....) and get together, talk about chickens, drink wine and have a great time. If not, I volunteer my place - not big or fancy but off I90 at the Fonda/Fultonville exit - in the middle of nowhere with about 8 acres. No one will care out here

I stopped in near the end, because I had to work today. Giving Sammy's friend the whole farmland experience..... LOL! It was all over by 2:15. I heard eggs went pretty well, but not what I could sell them for here. Call ducks did too. I'm keeping my eyes open for some fancy pigeons for Noah. We like the frillbacks. They had a lot of pigeons early in the day. Mostly rabbits & roosters at the end of the auction.

I have 1 Ameraucana chick out!

ETA: Dawn just called me -- the next auction is next weekend, so they don't run into Easter weekend. I'm going to go to work early so I can make the next one.

there was some really fancy fantails earlier in auction. they were bright bright blue. never seen ones that blue before. you know what the color is called?

they are really bad about remembering checks i always stay to get money. you can get money before end of auction as long as your birds are already sold. i was lot 8 today my birds went up at 11:00am they really like cash people i think they get annoyed with checks. not sure give perry a call.

Oh, that would be fun. Maybe my house in the summer. I have a pole barn if it rains. Lets see what we can do as we get closer to the WARM weather. Poor DH will go bonkers with LOTS of chicken talk!
