NY chicken lover!!!!

I hear that! They can be so cumbersome can't they and then when you try to use them the men just look at you like "oh please" I have small athletic hands but can't hold any of the larger tools anymore myself.

I have bought from Sylverfire before on ebay this year - Can't remember what I think it was... oh let me just look. Blue Orpington, Blue Splash Maran, Blue Copper Maran and Black Copper Maran. I had a couple hatch but most didn't do well. NOT her fault - the weather was really bad the the POST OFFICE managed to crack a few and deliver the others frozen. Her shipping was excellent - just the Post Office sucked. Now that I have her sheet out I may have to email her and ask for more please! They really are very nice the ones that survived.

I personally would give her a thumbs up for shipping method and her selection of eggs. Can't say for sure on her hatching rates though since my eggs were less than perfect when received.

I don't know. The rest of the birds that hatched were very nice - kinda between hatchery and breeder quality. Big sized but not proper colors. So I would not order if looking for show stock, but then again I know nothing about show stock. I think I had something like 90% of her eggs hatch so she's got good fertility for sure.

I agree, I know nothing about show or pet stock myself. I just know the few I hatched are very nice looking to me.

Does anyone know where I can get some Silkie eggs locally or Silkie hatchlings. I sold the ones I promised myself I would keep and am looking for Cochins, Bantam Cochins and Silkies presently. I also need 2 Silver Phoenix hatchlings and a couple nankin to go with the ones that I already have. Any help is great, otherwise I may be taking a chance through My Pet Chicken or one of the other nurseries for chick babies!

Soo funny! My husband must be related to yours with the building thing. He is a Builder by family trade as his father was a contractor in PA. My husband can do complicated fractions that make my head spin and can whip up something nice in no time. Then again he does take waaaay too much time on other things.

I have the last two of my Silkies and my on Ancona Duck ready for pickup, They had planned to be here prior to 6:30 but it's almost 7:00 and I still haven't seen a car. Of course where we live, they would need to ask the deer or bear for directions - not a lot of homes. My oldest St. Bernard Loki is watching the box like a hawk and the oldest Silkie is already mothering the duck along with the other little Silkie - oh so cute! Loki decided to stroll down into the basement yesterday - I had the door open to let some heat down there and all I heard were ducks panicking! I went down to check and she had already walked away from the ducks and chickens like "boooorrrrrring". I guess when you're ten years old you've seen everything and it's too much effort at that size.

I have got to find out where these auctions are! I know there is one in Central Bridge for livestock but I think it is mostly large livestock. It's usually on Tuesdays - I just might have to go.

Fyre--I just hatched out 5 beautiful silkies from Simplysplendidsilkes. Her birds are gorgeous and the eggs she shipped were indestructable. She is located in Tennessee. Type in the name and you will see her website. She was excellent to talk to.

OMG!!! I think I licked the screen a little bit when I saw your Silkie - their mind power is too great for my weakened mind state.
