Oh good!!! Your girls laying for you again?
My hen is still broody! I stuck some of my mutt eggs (my EE and cochin make very pretty babies) under her last night. Only 5, just in case she changes her mind. And she's so smart, she chucked out one of the ceramic eggs already.
Go broody girl go
I get one egg every three days. Better than none. I am starting to think that too many worms isn't a balanced diet for chickens. And they beg soooo sweetly.
OH MY...ray got home while I was down at the coop. I walked away. I left the door wide open. Needless to say I had to catch 4 itty bitty hens and put them back in the run. (Top lifts off. I am Sooo glad I talked ray out of putting one screw in each top panel.) I was kinda glad the loved worms so very much that they would walk right over to get one from my fingers. I grabbed the most curious one and put her back in the run and threw the worm in after her. After I had 2 inside the other 2 wanted in. They didn't even try to run away when I approached them. They got worms too.
A chick in EACH pocket is better. Gotta love those chicks. No bator for me.
I would be A** Deep in chicks in no time. It can happen, can't it featherz?
That describes be perfectly right now!! I think I'm going to hatch what I have collected now & give it a rest except for Dorkings. I've thought about offering incubation services to people that don't have incubators or maybe just doing custom hatches.
I actually carried eggs out to the coops today & gave them to my broody silkies! Noah thought I was confused when he saw me filling a basket inside to bring it outside!
