Hi everyone! I am near Pulaski, NY. We are new to raising chickens...starting with Rhode Island Reds. I am looking for white silkies...any near me?

I just received 2 dozen Silkie eggs from a breeder in Pa.

Lav splits, buff, white, and one silver patridge....I hope that one hatches.

Resting now, going into the incubator tomorrow.....

I wanted mostly lavendar with a few buffs so I could make porcelains....it will be a project...
Excited about next year if I have a good hatch.

Nice!
The one "porcelain" silkie chick I hatched from fowlrus looks like lavender not porcelain to me.

AND--- The cuckoos - also from shipped eggs but another breeder - well, only 2 are cuckoo. One has a straight comb & the other's comb is already turning red. I know they're a project, but sheesh! So made my decision whether to work with them easy.

Anyone want some cuckoos -- you can have some blue or black from the same hatch to go with them. The solid ones are very nice!

I hope I get at least one each sex from all the colors. But mostly Lavs & splits. I"m really getting into the lavendar color.

The woman that has the farm by the elementary school is right outside the village line. I have to go through the Minoa Village offices. I was told by the mayor that as long as I fill out the paperwork and pay the extremely high application fee I will be able to keep them. I just think that it is funny that after having them for over a year and have all of our neighbors signatures they are still making me jump through hoops. It would be one thing if we had no land but we have almost 2 acres.

In other news LOL... I am still on the hunt for some fertile eggs. I have a new broody and would like to hatch a few babies.

I have fertile eggs.
