Woohoo! Go chickies go!!
Any pips yet on those other eggs?
I thought my leghorns were holding out on me last week - three days in a row with only one egg and they never ever miss a day! (I love my leghorns).. I finally got suspicious and went around the property with a big rake since it's so overgrown.. There they were! a pile of giant white eggs under a bush in front of the house. They are now 'confined to quarters' until 10 or 11AM until they get the hang of it. So far so good, back to getting all my giant eggs again.
I just remembered I wormed them so I can' t eat the darn egg after waiting 2 weeks for it. Guess the chicks eat well. sigh.
No pips on the upper part of the eggs....maybe on the bottom....time will tell. I am going to move her nest box to a segragated area (chicken wire around an old table, in the coop)
I had Ray put the nest boxes up with 2 holes and screws that I can lift them off the holes, so I can move the broody box and put another one in it's place so they have their favorite place to lay intact.
