NY chicken lover!!!!

Found a kitten while walking today.. he is soooooooooooooooo cute and sooooooooooooooo friendly.

Right now he's out with our barn cats. DH wants him to go in with the indoor kitties, but I draw the line at four. He's joking, but he keeps suggesting we 'rehome' our recluse orange kitty and take this one in instead. /sigh.

I'm gonna end up on Hoarders one day, I just know it!

Anyone want a special needs half blind light brahma roo now that we've determined he's 'henpecked' and not ill?

Figures, the two roos I decide to keep - one is gorgeous but feisty and the other is scared of his shadow and keeps getting beat up...

Hope everyone else is having a great weekend!

Rowdy and Houdini are in the fridge waiting to be packed for freezer camp. Flock is already calmer and the roos I want to keep are stepping up into a lead role.

I hatched 3 chicks...2 looked alike upon hatching, one was more strawberry blonde in color. I was told that they were some breed with "Brown" in the name. Brown Leghorn? Anyone familiar with sexing that breed? If I have 2 roos and one hen (like I suspect) I want to bring the roos to Vooresville Pot Luck/Gathering. Someone might need a roo or two....I know I don't. It will be pretty darn cold by the time these are old enough to butcher and over-wintering them is not an option. I only want my OE Roos to breed my girls.

Phoebe, The way to a friends house is never long.

Just want folks to know I posted pics of the new hoop coop at the SDWD posting on here if anyone is interested in having a look. I also posted the approx. cost. I've got 11 BR's in it and that should be good. I'd like to do more but well it's hard for me and I have to pay someone to clean the coops I have. While it might look good to just shovel the crap out the door one doesn't want the crap near the coop cuz it will draw vermin and thats where you can run into disease.

Anyhow hope everyone is fine.
