I am near there, but I do my own chickens. Wonder what they charge for turkeys?

After mentioning the color of the yolk it reminded me to see if anyone has a breed of hen that tends to lay paler yolks than the rest. We have 50 or so chickens and out of all of them there are 2 leghorns tthat lay pathetically pale yolks. All get to free range and theirs are the only ones like that. I know it's theirs because they are the only white egg layers we have.

But if they are ferrel, how do you get the eggs? Do you have children to send out hunting eggs daily? I need a couple of eggs for my broody. You selling any fertile eggs right now?

I took a survey regarding "broodiness" and SILKIE was the hands down fav....so I bought 5...4 of which turned out to be roos. SIGH. So my ONE silkie hen, which lays daily, is my most expensive chicken. And she isn't even friendly. But her eggs are cute and have a nice rich yellow-orange yolk, that freaks my mother out, so all is good. LOL

if they free range they tend to hide egg. If they are penned it isn't a big deal at all. I have a son but asking him to collect egg, yeah right. At 18 he is WAY above that.

no one knows about Sumatra's, because no one has them. Small to medium eggs. Most of my girls lay 5 to 6 eggs each a week. If they aren't broody.

If you give me a couple of days to get some good clean eggs, I will have some nice fertile eggs.

I would love some....could come on Sunday, if that is convienient for you. Mapquest says you are only 39 minutes from my house. Gotta love that.

No hatching eggs now. My Australorp Roo is young and I haven't seen him flirting with his girls yet and my Penedesenca & D'Uccle Roos are also too young. They aren't even crowing.

I have Roos because I like to hear them sing and they are all silent. Good luck!

I do have some Marigolds on the side of our house-let's see if they will eat them!
