NY chicken lover!!!!

Cass, GREAT. We hatched only once. We are NEW with Silkies. It was fun. We had the hen sit on the 4 eggs. We had 2 roosters and 2 hens.

Rancher, we have a 5 gallon bucket with nipples and a regular chicken bucket waterer. We leave the two in our Barn. Chickens use both.

Looking forward to hatching in the Spring. Regards, Aria

Well, that is the exciting part. We have no idea what color they will be! Oh, BTW, Spartacus is the proudest duck in the kingdom. He now has four little ladies that parade around with him. I swear he struts sometimes!

Tab's chicken obsession :

Does anyone breed leghorns? I was thinking it would be nice to hatch some this spring just for our laying flock. I would really like silver leghorns.

I would research the breed and see if they are the personality you feel you can handle.

I wish you the best,

Rancher

I loooooooooove my leghorns. They are my nicest chickens and the only ones that let me pick them up without complaining.. plus the huge daily white eggs are wonderful.. No leghorn roo tho, so can't help with eggs. I'd really like some rose combed leghorns- didn't even know they existed until mugsmagee mentioned them! That's the one disadvantage of my girls - those big combs.
