NY chicken lover!!!!

You guys make me want more chickens of more breeds.

However, I am out of room.

My favorites out of my young group is (this surprised me) the golden lace wyandottes. They remind me of Aunt Bee going to church on Sunday for some reason. All decked out in her best dress.

Five or six eggs daily from the new girls. Poor Doris is moulting badly. She is rather sad about the state of affairs her feathers are in. She can't wait until the new pretty ones grow back.

Yipee for the warm weather this weekend.

Well if you've got the room hoop coops allow for small flocks of 10 birds of a breed or smaller, so you can get more variety. Easy to build and cheap too. However i will let you know how my birds do through the winter. So far the coldest days haven't been a problem.

Please do let us know how they do in hoops coops this winter. I really like the idea of using them (hoops) for grow out pens for birds I hatch over winter (keep inside til fully feathered) and then use them for green house in summer/fall.

I sure do have the acreage. I really liked the pics of your hoop coop. It was clean, neat, light and airy. Looks like a healthy way to keep birds.

Well, that is the exciting part. We have no idea what color they will be! Oh, BTW, Spartacus is the proudest duck in the kingdom. He now has four little ladies that parade around with him. I swear he struts sometimes!

Well, isn't that sweet...is this 4 new to you or are these the ones from me? I would love to see a pic.

It is airy and I designed it with a door on each end for easy cleaning and rotation of runs. I expect to put one on each end. I hope to build more for breeding pens. They are easy to build for me being disabled. No heavy lumber to lug. I just screw everything together. The hardware cloth and chicken wire are all zipped tied to the framing.

Hi wildorchild053 i have about 2150 chickens i am looking to swap a few to get new bloodlines. can you let me know what kind you have and post pics of them if you have any. i am located in cny (cazenovia)

TWO Eggs hatched!!!!

One of the newly hatched chicks got crushed and killed by the D'uccles trying to avoid my rooster. CRAP!!! I really HAVE to get rid of that roo. He won't leave those little girls alone and now there is a dead chick cuz of him. He's GOT TO GO. He's really a nice rooster. I love him, but he needs to be in a bigger flock where he isn't chasing the same hens time and time again.
