I might have leghorn crosses (x EE) but right now my leghorns hate my rooster so probably not. LOL. They still squat for me. Was hoping to try and hatch a few leghorn X's for the NYD hatch but alas, none of the eggs I have checked are fertile.

Okay! I like the snow too! However, I don't want it to snow EVERYDAY like last year. I hate rainy winters...never decreases the bugs and slop everywhere. Could it get to about 20* with some sunshine!! Love it!!!

Wow, I like your thinking...but I would love it to snow a ton and then clear the roads and just let the ground be covered and the roads clear!

OH! I am good with that too!! Then a dusting every now and then to keep things clean looking!!

If you have(or get) a good leghorn layer(s), covered by an EE rooster, that came from a blue egg, is what I actually want!! If you do, I would love to buy some from you!!!!(In late January!!) If you hens and rooster cooperate........(Syntax isn't quite right....sorry . just came home from work, didn't get lunch and had some wine.........) I think you might know what I mean!

Edited to say...I think I'll have some more wine and then do chores in the dark.........

He did come from a green/blue egg, but I don't know what HIS babies will look like. I can tell you that his EE 'sisters' do NOT lay green eggs even though they came from green eggs, so he probably doesn't have the right genetics either. In either case, he ain't getting any from my leghorns - he actually doesn't even try, so maybe they don't look like ladies to him.

(he has 35 others to choose from LOL).

I didn't check this time, but I did check TJ's in brooklyn before and they did not have the fertile eggs.

Featherz, Do you know if TJ's in the city has fertilzed eggs?

I *think* Stop and Shop over in MA has fertilized eggs in the natural/organic foods section. I haven't been in one for a while, but I know the S&S in North Adams used to carry them.

Oh! I know who has local fertilized eggs! I forgot, it's in Albany. Dean's natural foods (gotta check to see if the name is correct). Was there about 6 months ago and they had fertilized brown eggs. Not as good as picking them up from a local person, but if you wanna join the 'hatching store eggs' thread that's an option.

Yes, just checked. They list "Nepc Fertile Grade A Large Brown Eggs" on the website.
