What I would like to end up with is a bird that lays blue eggs, and is prolific! What color eggs do delawares lay? I do not care what the offspring look like..just looking for some good layers of colored eggs! So maybe I am interested!!

The LH X Amer should lay a blue egg with a pea comb and muffs. The LH X Del should lay a brown egg with straight comb. You could just sell the straight combs and keep the Pea combs. We might be able to seperate them when It gets closer to when you want them.

Tab,
I think I am interested!!! Will you have any LH X Amer in about 6 weeks and if so how much do you want?

I had the heated chicken waterers up for about a week, but just got the goat / sheep buckets up this weekend. No really sure what we are going to do for the ducks. Any ideas?

Our broody Silkie (Mama Bear) has hatched four babies now. (One did not make it past the first day

). Just found another one in the nesting box this morning!

Our ducks do not have a water heater. I do not want to use a cookie tin heater-too much chance for water inside it, they are messy lil things, I do not have a water source close by their coop (about 200ft away) so I am not carrying large quantities just for them. I looked for a shallow heated bucket but can't find one. We have small ducks, 4 pairs-Woodies, Mandarins, BEI's & Pintails. Any ideas anyone?

s&s? I shope there(not in NA, but easy enough to get do!! Thanks! Do you know whether they are white or brown?

If I recall correctly, they were brown. I noticed them one day when buying kefir. If they do still carry them, the other Stop and Shops (always known as Stop and Flop in my household) would probably have them as well.

Amy, have you ever made your own kefir? Or would you be interested? I have some kefir grains I could share......

I haven't, but I'd love to give it a try!

It was so funny when your husband came to pick up the eggs. We were joking that it must look REALLY bad to have a pharmacist out in the parking lot exchanging a bag for folded cash.

I told my staff I was dealing eggs.

Totally different topic here....... Anyone hunt squirrel? I've been reading about it in the meaties section and now I HAVE TO try it. I suppose I'll have to figure out all of the NY hunting laws regarding it...and then purchase some sort of a bb gun? Any of you locals do it?

I can understand this. With little kids looking out the window everyday saying "Mommy I can't wait for it to snow!", you can't help but to want it too. The look on their faces is wonderful! Fiona (3yrs) is right at the window with the few flurries we've had going "mommy look! Snow!"

I don't look forward to the work the snow brings though or the days it's bad enough where my car gets stuck at the end of the driveway.

No. I don't want you to get stuck..ok can the snow just fall on the lawn? Yes with 5 kids ..well the college kiddo prob doesn't want snow...he is still wearing sandles with a scarf!..anyway the others want snow...I hear it everyday!

What is Kefir? Just asking! and about those eggs...you just hatch and see what comes out?! What a surprise!
