NY chicken lover!!!!

Ooooo, I've been intrigued by the B/B/S orpingtons. I like unique colors. (look - shiny objects!) Hubby already stated that we are not getting into breeding chickens. HAHAHAHA. I didn't want any roos the first year, until we figured out which breed(s) we liked best of the group and then add a roo or two. But if straight run is the only option, then we will be having a roo or two to start.

Tab & Trav - what kinds to you have now or coming up?
we have marans (BBS roo and golden cuckoo roo over cuckoo, golden cuckoo, blue copper, BBS hens), BLR project orpingtons (straight comb BLRW roo over 1BBS orp hen and 2 F1 daughters), LH x Silver Ameracauna EE's, barred olive eggers, BLRW and silver ameracauna (these aren't laying so well right now to DH's frustration). We haven't hatched any orps yet this year but are loading a few into the frigabator on sunday. If you're interested in anything we have PM Trav or myself or facebook travis.

Too bad we aren't closer. I have hatching now (this minute!) BBS Orpingtons, Australorps and alot of Porcelain D'Uccles. Good luck on your chick search and welcome!

I can get my hands on some nice quality Australorp eggs!..in 21 days they will be chicks!? I may have Lav or blk orpingtons...HappyhensNY has some B/B/S hatch this week..I hope to see her next week...just sayin'

I see a possible pass the chicks along until they make it to their intended home in the near future.

If all parties involved are in agreement. Karen if you can pick up chicks I can bring them down to Cortland since we're going that way anyway. I bought some hotties when they went on clearance at TSC. Did I mention I love BYC buddies?

Bannana blueberry muffins in the oven, kids with my parents now I think I'm going to sit down and enjoy the quiet. I came down with the sinus cold that's been going around at work and my head is pounding.

Langshan!!!!! Man we so think alike!!!!! Oh, I didn't think of the lipstick! good one~! I have one langshan hen laying..and one chick in the brooder...Blue..what color are yours?

Oh no, all my NN are here to stay. =) They are all just under a year old and are in my big coop and those guys are staying. Plus I have three baby NN in the brooder/barn and more to hatch for easter. Sure you don't want a NN cockerel? I think two out of my three babies might be boys, naturally. I hate to bring those to auction cause the folks round here probably think they are too weird to buy. :P

I doubt I can mark the turken eggs.. I can just see myself chasing them around with a tube of lipstick hee hee. :P Their eggs seem to be a bit smaller than the others, so I hatched three out of four as NN last time around - my langshans are laying the gigantic eggs.
