They'll be fine. I have 6 week olds outside right now. no problems at all and I've even had the windows open in the coop.

The monster eggs always make me cringe. Trucker Chick the Leghorn pushed out that huge beast a while back, and has come up with a couple of good-sized eggs since. I don't know how she does it. *ouch*
My broody mama is staying the course, good girl that she is. I have to get a good, strong light out there to candle the brown eggs. I know the Leghorn cross is cheerfully doing its thing and developing merrily away, but none of the lights I've used have been strong enough to see very well into the brown eggs. They're at two weeks now, so it should be relatively easy to see something even in the brown ones if I rustle up a good light (I think I know where I have one stashed). This is more of a "let's see what happens and if the boys are hitting the mark" experiment than anything else, so I'll be happy even if she just gets the one chick out of it. Watch - it'll be a roo. A Speckled Sussex/Leghorn cross will either be beautiful or bizarre-looking - I can't see much of a middle ground there.

lol. Sumatra/leghorn has created some really cute chicks. Now they are awkward teens. Still cute, but awkward

Hi!! I am new here, and am up in Carthage
We have 6 pullets from TSC, reds and yellows. We are new to raising chickens
Would love to meet someone who is near that could help me set up a great pen area for them?! I have a hutch that I am going to set up soon, and going to make a run for them, just looking for some guidance!! Thanks!!!
I know this might be a long shot, but does anyone have any chicks they are wanting to rehome, or know of somewhere I can possibly find others? I have RIR and Leghorns, (6 total) but looking for more! Not picky about the breed!
