NY chicken lover!!!!

The deer are insane here. I think they have a death wish. You know I think we could be neighbors...only in different cities. :)
Same here! One jumped out in front of my yesterday from the right to the left, back to the right, then back to the left again before finally getting off the road. And this is a 55mph road we live on so I had slam on breaks from 60. Someone told me I should get some of these for my car...

Not sure how well they work, or how odd they would look on my car. I think I'll just stick to blaring my music when I'm coming home on that road. LOL

Does anybody here want or know somebody looking for a barred rock rooster. He is 6 months and just started crowing last Sunday. He has the double bar gene and is super friendly. Let me know if there is. I have 14 roosters for 21 hens.

Pyxis, your duckling is so adorable, the heart can be seen in the hatch picture from yesterday too!

Turns out my Blu is an OE! here is her first egg, next to Wilma's first egg! Wilma laid another for me, I blew it so I can decorate the shell, and we used it to make a little batter for some fried chicken...

Welcome back RedRoo! I am just down the road from you in Accord. What kind of chickens do you have and how many? Always nice to have a neighbor nearby!

Adorava--nice pics. She is beautiful!

Pix--love the heart on the beak. Babies are so cute!

My daughter tells me a hawk has been hanging out in the woods by the big coop. I have a sexlink that likes to escape (we havent figured out how yet) and run around all day. Will have to remedy that this weekend. This means my silkies will no longer be allowed out to freerange without close supervision either. I know that hawk is looking for an easy meal but it isnt going to happen at my house if I can help it!

Off to another long day on the pharm. My cheeps are going to think I abandoned them!!! Wish the rain would stop and things could dry out some. Oh well, have a good day everyone!

The hawk that likes to hang out at our house was back the other day. It was making the call it makes. My daughters got kick out of it and were trying shriek along with it. It didn't impress me though. Dang bird!
