O.K. Who's taken the tree down??

Our tree goes up the 23rd and down the 27th. My poor DH can't see the tv when it's up and since his school is playing in the Rosebowl this year we are having a house full of people on New Year's day. I need the room and want to play with all my new toys.

DF is Puerto Rican and he's said something about in Puerto Rico, Christmas being

celebrated on Jan.6--Feast of The Three Kings.

This year we've put up our tree Dec.1, and will take it down Jan.7

Sooo, I guess we will celebrate Christmas all over again, come Jan.6 !!

This year I have been in a Christmassy mood since the day after Thanksgiving.

Even went shopping for a tree (artificial), put it up and my four youngest children

decorated it, AND I have enjoyed seeing it every day----so not me, at all!

I usually dreaded putting up the tree, decorating it, placing presents under it---the whole

thing! So glad to take it down Jan.2.....DF even tried the above Jan.6 celebration one

year.....boy was I stressing out then.

My reasoning for this year being so different is........my children have finally grown up enuff

and calmed down (19yr son ADHD-severe, 18yr son, 17yr daughter ADHD-severe, 15yr

son ADHD-mild, 14yr son ADHD-mild, 11yr daughter) and no medication for any ADHD, with

God's help, just positive re-enforcing, with God's help, firm joint back-up from both DF and

myself helping guide them right, with God's help, showing and telling them we love them

in many ways, with God's help. My family also helped us out, with God's help. WOW!

Thank You, God!!

out in same ways.

I usually put mine up a week before Christmas and take it down New Year's Day. This year I broke down and took a fake tree from my mother - it didn't go up until this past Sunday. It's still coming down New Year's Day, though!

Mine goes up one week before Christmas, and then it comes down New Year's Day. All the other house greenery decorations come down on Superbowl Sunday.

Mine was up two weeks before Xmas and will come down tomorrow "FRIDAY" the 28th

WE HAD A WONDERFUL CALM CHRISTMAS and I hope you all did to,

Through Jan 6th, I don't put my tree up right after Thansgiving because I like to have it up until Christmas is finished and Epiphany begins. My Lutheran minister uncle-in-law keeps telling us that Christmas is a season to be celebrated, and although I'm not terribly religous, I like the idea. So the Christmas tree stays up as a reminder.
