Please stop making this a race or religious issue, it is downright shameful to play those cards.

I didn't make it a race or religious issue. People in this thread have insinuated or flat out said they're distrusting of him because of his diverse background and upbringing. THAT is making is an issue of race or religion.

And those are not the only factors mentioned. Many people feel Obama is objectionable because he doesn't hold their same political ideals, and I think it's a shame something like that is getting in the way of such a good message.

BS it was brought up from the beginning by posters for Obama, please KNOCK it off.

Our kids are fat and lazy and hate doing homework or bothering with anything their parents don't force them too.

Maybe more parents should join the PTA.

However, they expect the government to just throw more money at schools because that's what the kids really need right?! They need their parents involved... and a simple video from the president won't make a difference either way, so let them watch if the schools want them too.

Between the hours of 8 and 3 they are raising your kids....

Tyranny knows no color, no race, no gender, no creed. Hitler was white, or has everyone forgotten?

If you feel the need to bring bigotry into the picture, then it's you that deems race important. Reverse racism is the inability to call a spade a spade due to the fact that said spade is black.

Being a bigot doesn't necessarily have anything to do with race. It can be bigotry about a person's religious beliefs or their lifestyle. I didn't bring bigotry into this discussion....I may have been the first one to type that word out, but there was plenty of it floating around before I came into it. I don't give a rats patootie what color someone is.....unfortunately that can't be said for a lot of people in this discussion....whether they'll admit it or not it's pretty obvious.

Well, as you-know-who said, "Can't we all just get along?"

So the President wants to give a speech about the importance of education and right wing groups are threatening to keep their kids home from school.

Right wing extremists have called our President a socialist, compared him to Hitler, said he was a Muslim, said he wasn't born in America, and too many other things to list.

Yes, the President's approval ratings have slipped, but the Republican Parties approval ratings remain in the toilet. They will continue to remain in the toilet until they can distance themselves from the extremists of their party, and come up with viable alternatives to the Democrats ideas. NO is not an alternative and it surely isn't helping our country.

I don't know if my school district is going to show the Presidents speech. I do know that my kids WILL watch it, even if I have to keep them home from school to do so.

.whether they'll admit it or not it's pretty obvious.

Honestly think PLEASE think before labeling thoughts to other people. Please speak for yourself.

Agreed or in other words if the rest of us just submit and shut up. For their to be free speech their has to be open and differing opinions without intimidation.

Well from reading what people have said it's pretty clear to me what they're thinking......even if they and you won't admit it.
