Obama , try to stop execution of Killer of 16 yr old girl

Actually the Obama administration is doing more to enforce the law than any POTUS in recent history. They are investigating companies that are hiring illegals and fining them and requiring them to fire the illegals. At that point most are going back home.

I know that a small number of women do come over to have their babies so that the baby will be a citizen. It is costly because the women usually have had no pre natal care. I don't believe the stories about people coming here for diseases though. Our hospitals only give immediate care to uninsured people. They stabilize you and send you away.

There really is no viable solution except better border control and cracking down on employers.
 
Dunkopf, believe it or not! My husband's family moved to that area before 1930. All his family was born, sick, and died at this hospital. My son was born there and I, myself, was a patient twice. So I think I, and the person I quoted, know more about this area than you do.

You are very naive if you think a small number of women sneak into the country to have babies or don't come here with terminal illnesses. Do you remember the little Mexican girl a few years ago who needed a transplant? Her parents sneaked her in and she jumped the transplant line at Duke University Hospital. Sadly, she died because she was given the wrong type of blood. Last I heard her parents were going to sue. Desperate people do desperate things, and I don't fault them for that.

President Obama is doing zip. I hear all the time how he is deporting more than past presidents. Nothing still equals nothing. He is doing as little as possible. He has a "catch & release" pattern. Watch what he and Janet Napolitano are doing rather than saying.

This is my last post on this subject. I don't want to be the cause of the topic being closed for other people.

We take a huge risk in ignoring a treaty, especially one with our next door neighbor. That said, if a U.S. citizen is apprehended by Mexican authorities, he or she can be treated very poorly and it seems as though there's not much the U.S. consulate can do.

Do you realize what it would cost to try to fence that with anything close to effective? These radio and TV talkers need to start putting out facts instead of BS. The dumbing down of America needs to stop.

BTW we had a little boy here in Colorado that was undocumented. Childrens hospital started a fund for him because he of course did not qualify for any kind of a government program. They collected 300,000.00, he died about a year later.

The Federal Govt had no business getting involved in the case at all, since he was not charged with any Federal crimes

Obama was simply trying to gain favor with Hispanics for their votes.

On an issue like this I think you might be right or at least have a point worth considering. The treaty is at a Federal level. It doesn't sound like anyone knows what exactly is in the treaty. I certainly wouldn't rely on ANY news source or commentator for that info.

As for Obama trying to get the Latino vote. He's already got that. The other side gave it to him with a ribbon and a pretty bow tie attached. Besides, why do you think Latinos are in favor of saving some low life that killed a young Latino girl in such a brutal manner? Obama was attempting to hold up our end of the treaty so that next time we have an American citizen unjustly or justly tried in a Mexican court our government might be able to help them. Obama had no political gain on anything. All he had was potential political loss. He did what he felt was right for our country, just as he always does.
 
Unless I have sawdust in my eyes Texas is ranked 15th (violent crimes) and 17th (murder) for the sake of accuracy.

Pretty sure the 16 or 17 years the guy was on death row filing appeals and petitions would be considered long enough. Congress had plenty of time to enact something, but they didn't. He was on death row longer than his victim was on on Earth.
 
The thing that bothers me most about this whole case is the supreme court. Isn't the job of a judge to interpret and uphold the law? They seem to vote party-line on everything no matter what. I'm not saying who is right or who is wrong in any situation but it just seems these judges can't rule non objectively as they should.

for clarification I'm not referring to this case specifically, the world is a better place without the guy. I just question the legalities of some of their decisions... like if you were to read the fine print what would our laws say about it.

5-4 party lines on an issue that seems so crazy to me, why wouldn't generic brand drugs have to be held to the same safety standards? Money money money.
