Xyla knew she shouldn't, but her fighting instincts commanded her to. She shouted as the panther rushed her. She threw a throwing knife into its head, wincing as it left and slashed her strong abs. She laid back on the ground, bleeding and in sever pain, with a dead panther beside her. With a cry of pain she got to her knees and weakly stood up, trying to hobble her way back to her border, sobbing softly even though she was controlling the pain the best she could.(Every time a writer uses the word 'intricate' an artist has to spend 2 extra hours drawing the thing... if it's like, a movie or something. Does that make sense? Nevermind.)
"Ow! Quit pecking me. I said I'm sorry." Neo said.
"You could have killed me." The parrot grumbled.
"Oh, quit being so dramatic. So I got up too fast and you fell. Big deal."
"Fell? You threw me across the room."
"Yeah, well..." Neo glanced around, and a chill ran up his spine. Where was everyone? He slowed, head spinning in every direction. The bird noticed it, too, and grew silent. His feathers pulled close to his body. They both lighted on a tree, oblivious of the girl flying not twenty feet away.
