My friend has a what we were told was a Gold laced Wyandotte, and she does look to be pure, her lacing looks neat, rose comb (I believe), and the black butts. But she's the only one out of 2 others in a pen that they've/ we've seen in a box trying to lay, now we haven't seen her lay but we check pretty often and shes usually the one in the box. If it is her, she's laying blue eggs, how could she look pure yet lay blue eggs? Is that possible? Or is it most likely another hen?
She looks like this hen (not her), same amount of gold, i see most have more black so thats why i specified.

But her comb looks like this, which looks like a rose comb on a wyandotte rooster, hens are different, but she is no rooster, so how come her comb is like that of a roo's?

Not all birds with that comb are males. I have a hen that has a comb much more like the one shown than the one on the full image

There's what they were told was a ayam cemani hen, and a rhode island red. Right now the rhode island red is sick, and they just got her 2 weeks ago, and she's not laying due to being sick, so that would leave the ayam cemani hen who also looks pure and shouldn't be laying blue eggs.

None of those breeds "should" lay blue eggs.

Were they getting blue eggs before they got the Rhode Island Red? Because otherwise she would be my first guess. There are some chickens that look very much like Rhode Island Reds and lay blue eggs.

You (or they) could check which chickens are probably laying eggs:

Any hen who is not laying is clearly not laying those eggs.

If there are more than one that could be laying, for that small number, it's probably easiest to just separate them for a day or so to figure it out. Put one in a dog crate or something similar, leave one in the usual pen, watch which color egg appears where.

It would be possible for someone to breed a blue-laying chicken that looks exactly the same as a Wyandotte, or an Ayam Cemani, but I don't know of any that are readily available. I think some people probably are working on projects like that, but I hadn't thought they were selling birds at present.

yes all three hens, the rir, the ayam cemani, and the Wyandotte, they got on the same day, at an auction actually. So it wouldn't surprise me if any are mixed, but the ayam cemani and the Wyandotte look pure and highly doubt they'd sell something that looks pure yet lays blue eggs unless they didn't know what they had. The rir on the other hand like i said, is sick, but is the one I'd believe would lay the blue egg, as she has incomplete black laced markings. Similar to some cinnamon queen hatchery birds, but in a darker red.

I would definitely try separating the "RIR" and see whether the blue eggs come from her or from the other two. Sometimes a chicken still lays eggs while being sick.
