Ocellated turkeys???????????????

on top of the price, the average backyard farm will never keep them a live. They have VERY specialised diets, can not tollerate cold weather, only 2 -3 breeders in the country have them and they get little or no production out of them what so ever. No Spectrum does not have them either. $3000 and up is the base price if you find any, never once seen an egg for sell, would be sceptical on that, why sell an egg for $200 when at a year it's worth a min of $1500?? If I had them and knew they were fertile, I wouldnt even consider selling eggs on such a rare bird.

They have been on my wish list for several years, very beautiful birds, but best left to the zoos, or those who can handle all their special care needs.

We need to get them to breed in captivity as quickly as possible. They are rapidly vanishing from the wild, which is being sped along by expensive trophy hunts allowed down south.

When I first saw them I was smitten and wanted to go on a hunt with tranqs just to bring some back. But I also read that they were horrible to raise in captivity (and found out the hunt was $1,500+).
