October 2021 Hatch-A-Long

Pics
My eggs are on day 4! I set 24 in my Brinsea and they seem to be doing well. I got most of them from Dragonfly Farm, and some of them from my birds and a friend. 19 are for sure fertile, and I can’t really tell on the others.

This is one of my eggs I candled earlier today! I’m amazed!!!! BE485D1F-D587-433D-8371-75C63DFEC8C5.jpeg

If you don’t know what Dragonfly Farms I’d here’s a link to their website and a thread I made about them! :)

Looking good!😊

Did I say 14? I ment 20. And, as he said he wanted to live through us, here is @wolfwalker 's hatch for this month.

20 eggs, mainly partridge wyandottee, orpingtons and bantam wyandottes. The brand spanking new janoel 18, second incubation attempt in it. I've chucked 20 in because I'm only expecting 1 bantam egg to be fertile. But lets see what happens! Due to hatch the 17/18th(depending set at 5:38pm EST Monday 27th sept)

Hi y’all I thought I’d join this where other cheeps are as excited as I am about hatching! 😆 I have 22 marans (black copper, blue, wheaten, blue wheaten) and 22 Ameraucana on day 8! Last night I candled and I’m by no means an expert. 2 of the ameraucana were yolkers but the rest were viable! The marans were much harder to tell. I saw a few big eyes moving around or a pulsating but some I couldn’t hardly see anything except the air sac. Fingers crossed! I’m thinking about my next hatch being a dry hatch? Humidity has been a struggle.

Great breeds!
I have been dry incubating for about two years and would never go back. I live in Hawaii so the ambient humidity here is high. The humidity usually runs between 35 and 45%, so I do not add any water until I see the first pip, or day 19, which ever comes first.😊
