Holy cow!!! What a tiny, difficult looking pieced block!!! I would say yes border but then I would never attempt that block at all so maybe Goldy can help you with the question, she does those 1" squares in that wreath pattern she makes. Good luck, it's gorgoeus and I'm sure there will be a race to sign up behind you to get it, lol!

The block you have chosen is a 12 inch block when finished. This means that it will be 12.5 unfinished which is perfect.
If you are new to quilting, then this may be a challenging piece to accomplish.
The purpose is to have fun and enjoy the process.
There are some star patterns that have fewer pieces if SE has frightened you too much.

Here are some hints:
Take your time and cut your fabric carefully. 1/16 inch is better bigger than smaller when cutting.
When sewing seams practice on scrap fabric to find your 1/4 inch seam allowance. I put a tape strip on my machine bed to use as a guide for the piecing.
When sewing the pieces together, press each seam...usually toward the darker color.
Once you have the small blocks ready to sew into the rows, measure and trim to the correct size. Then pin your points, seam and press.
