OCTOBER HATCH-A-LONG!!! 2015

Woke up at 4:42 am to cheeping. Only one, but very active considering it's umbilicus is still attached to the egg. and LOUD. Gotta remember hands off and wait for the rest.

Holy...........
It dragged itself and 3/4 of the egg still attached by imbilicus to one of the trays with cloth and water, appeared to take a drink, paused, then leaving the shell behind, crawled ,squirmed and then stumbled to the next corner a foot away, still wet and shiny. Wow. Wake up everybody, can't you hear the singing.

Humidity jumped from 64% to 72%,slight panic but looking in there are 3 with pips and one with a crack. So glad I didn't take out the first chick to cuddle. Guess I better go eat something.

2 more pips and one is a bantam. After losing 3 of the bantam eggs I've been nervous about these last 2.
uuuuh breakfast has gone cold but who can eat at a time like this.

Hopefully they will be out very very soon! Bantams are tough.I think it's because there just is not a lot of room in there!

Maybe I should finish that thought. I am concerned about how late I can keep hatching due to weather. I am in east tennessee now and weather is nothing like it is in western ny. I wouldnt want to lose any chicks due to warmth concerns.
