Oh yea I slept but was up bright and early to check on them

Have 12 out 4 barred rocks 4 silver laced Wyandotte and 4 mystery chicks I got from someone and they're not even sure who they came from lol. I still have 12 more eggs to go and all but 4 of those have pips or have started zipping. It's going to be a long day at work waiting to see who else came out.

Mine isn't really a hatch-a-long October as the eggs have only just gone in to the incubator. I said NO MORE CHICKS this year, but then had a disaster with my ayam cemani's - I ballsed up the humidity and, as a result, ended up with one chick and four dead embryos.

I was at a poultry auction this Sunday and there were Silkie eggs on the cheap, so I picked up 12 and put them in the incubator - due to hatch 13/14 November. As these haven't been shipped I'm hoping hatch rate will be a little better than previous hatches. On my fourth hatch now so gradually getting some experience - not a lot, but some!

Wonderful to see so many new chickies!

I pulled the 14/16 babies out of the incubator...I think i am officially in love. I had put in 8 Isbar eggs from my blue hen or black isbar hen covered by a Svart hona roo. I had two babies hatch out blue with the most fantastic black legs. I will take pics of them later. They are up at the Farm. The Hona chicks look beautiful too...very dark and I am super excited. I also had two light sussex hatch and a chick my white CCL hen/sussex roo. It's going to be a long winter with all the hatching I have done!

Just got home only 1 more while at work 7 more eggs remain, I am just now officially at day 21. I set them 3 weeks ago today at 3pm so I still have hope for the remaining 7 eggs. 4 of those eggs have pips and you can hear the cherps but 3 have nothing but you never those cherps could be theirs.

I ended up with 33 of the 34 eggs hatching safety! Not bad for a first timer. Off to my next batch, this incubation stuff is great
