Today was hatch day. Nothing has happened. I do hope that it's just delayed due to fluctuating temperatures. Already feeling a little sad. I will float test them in a few days if nothing happens.

Bummer Did your temp spike? Or consistently too low? How many eggs are on lockdown?

Uhm, so yeah.. my dog knocked down 4 of the 20 eggs and broke them. lol Yeah. day one! Gotta love it. And one of the eggs was a black maran. These were bought from ebay. Very expensive eggs. Durn dog. Oh well. Life goes on.

I have 8 eggs on lockdown. 2 of them I am pretty sure stopped developing and 1 I could not tell. The other 5 I saw definite movement in several days ago.

I set up the incubator and monitored temperature/humidity for 1 full day before adding the eggs. Later on day 1 or 2 the temp went up to about 106, but probably not for too long. Most days the temp has been a bit on the low side.

Right now the temp is 97.5 with 55% humidity.

Edited to add: Eggs last candled on 10/15 and air cells marked. I have had the eggs upright in cartons w/bottom cut out until 10/17 - I then laid them down with the largest part of the air cells up. I have not handled them since.

He's an extremely sweet, curious, helpful dachshund who just can't help himself. He always wants to see what they (the chicks) are doing. (And what I'm doing to them!) lol He's such a jealous little boy. But, I love him! <3

Ugh! One of my eggs started seeping. Candled all of them-something happened, they died.
What a way to start my morning......
