Wobbly and falling over is quite normal for the first day or so! Just watch out for legs sticking out at funny angles in case any of them get splayed legs.

Lockdown is approaching for "batch 2." Hardly can call it a batch, as there is a single egg still developing. If it hatches, that makes 18 eggs, 2 chicks... this is my first time hatching, def. putting a damper on me wanting to do it again any time soon. I've been so attentive! The baby from the last batch, Chip, is doing excellently even though he came from a small egg. I really hope this one hatches out so he has a pal.
Will have to get a better incubator when I'm next ready to hatch Serama, I suppose. I don't think I'll be hatching my layer flock since I couldn't keep LF roosters.
One egg pipped! I noted that this one was obviously moving a lot at day 7 and had huge veins at day 14. It's a little EE/BR mix. Tiny egg. Jewell's eggs are smaller than medium because she just started laying. 3 more to go. 1 more EE/BR and 2 BR. My 2 youngest (ages 9 and 5) are camped out in front of the incubator. Popcorn and all.![]()
