October Hatch-A-Long

Is it normal to have 2 dark blobs in a single-yolked egg? I'm very confused.

Depending on what day of incubating you are on yes you can have what looks like two dark blobs. On day eight I'm seeing that and I know they are single yolk. I'll try and get some video today and show you want I mean.

This is video on day 9. This egg had only one chick in it. Unfortunately I had a temp spike and lost them all. Eggtospy showed that it quit on day 15-16.

I am incubating 9 of a friends eggs with mine. out of the 4 light eggs, 2 were clears. and then there are 5 dark brown ones, darker than my red sex links. Can't see anything in them. But one has a more visible air sac so I am thinking that one may have a developing chick. The air sac is just...brighter than the others.

Out of the 6 from my flock all are developing and moving around.

Out of the 7 silkie eggs, 4 are developing and moving around. Silkie go into lock down next Monday. Other two sets of eggs are on day 9.
Lets hope we get some fluffy butts soon!

Almost missed this! Kinda surprised to see so many people hatching this late in the year as I'd heard that it's so much harder raising the chicks over winter. I'm expecting 5 light Sussex to hatch on Thursday.

Duck eggs on day 25!! Excited and nervous to see what happens... my broody has never hatched eggs since I have known her, but has been broody many times. I am sure she'll be a natural, maybe just shocked that a duckling or 2!!?? is finally hatching. I'll be checking Thursday and Friday to see how they're doing. I will need to move her out of the chicken coop where she made her nest.

Silkies and Seramas on day 3... saw the very start of one silkie egg today... so excited!! I had the temp a degree too low... forgot to raise it again after lockdown last time... oops. There are so many details that I usually forget one!
