October Hatch-A-Long

How long after they pip externally until they start zipping? one of my chicks piped 7 hours ago. the beak isn't out but there is a little tiny crack where it piped. I haven't heard any chirping, should I be worried?

No, and they need to change that old expression from a watched kettle never boils to a watched pip never zips :)

I was worried because he wasn't chirping, but I just couldn't hear it lol I added more water. And now I have 1 more internal pip another that started the internal pip and the 4th I believe is not alive anymore. I bet the first piped will be the last hatched lol.

we have 2 external pip, 1 internal. and 1 that is still alive but no internal piping yet. Maybe we will have some zipping when we wake up in the morning. Today is day 19.

two on left are piped, although in this picture believe only the front one was piped. Front right internal pip.

They look like little egg mummies : )

One of them sure has a good set of lungs!! hahah has been peeping for the last 2 hours non stop! This is exciting, I don't want to go to bed! My face is glued to the incubator glass- although there isn't much to see at the moment lol

My babies are few days old... I'm in love!
